Basic Financial Literacy
Financial literacy is a set of skills and knowledge that allows an individual to make informed and effective decisions with all of their financial resources. In all walks of life today financial literacy is fundamental for both personal and business success.
The program
This is a learning opportunity that will provide individuals with a broad appreciation and understanding of the concepts and language of finance. Financial literacy is more than just being able to balance a cheque book, compare prices or get a job. It also includes skills like long-term vision and planning for the future, and the discipline to use those skills every day.

Program Content
The delivery will cover the following:
- Learn how to read and interpret financial reports and data, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash-flow statements.
- Assess the profitability and costs of projects, products, innovations, and initiatives to make better investment decisions.
- Use your financial knowledge to improve planning, budgeting, and valuation.
- Become familiar with the language of business to better communicate with financial colleagues.
- Learn how metrics provide insight into your organization’s performance.
Who Should Attend?
Individuals who do not have extensive experience in money matters who seek a greater comfort level with the basics of Finance and want to expand their understanding of their personal financial and the needs of the organization.
